Hi! I’m Hillary, and I’m so glad you’re here.
If you’re like most of my readers, you’ve found your way to my site because you care about saving money and providing for your family on a budget. And I’m a huge nerd about this stuff.
Whether you’re a single person dreaming about the future, a new mom-to-be, or a grandparent with 15 grandkids, I hope you’ll find some real value in the resources here on my site. After all, it’s just the typed-up version of what worked for me and my family.
When my husband Alex and I got married in 2018, we immediately decided we needed to get out of debt. But at first, I had a hard time figuring out what to focus on. Coupons? A side hustle? Should we sell a car?
Then another friend on her own debt-free journey suggested I read the 1990s newsletter, The Tightwad Gazette. Finally, I started to understand. The solution to raising the family of our dreams (even in the current economy, inflation, and a merely 5-figure job) was in saving creatively.
I became obsessed with finding new ways to save money. Some friends and family have thought my methods a little strange (some might even label them “extreme”), but I can’t argue with the results. So I’m sharing them!
I know how many people are struggling to even feed their families right now, let alone get out of debt or save for the future. But despite earning less than the median American household income for every year of our marriage (so far!), we’re a comfortable, happy, and financially stress-free family.
I want that for you, too.
If you’d like to dive right in and see some of the ways we’ve made it work, I’ve compiled a list of the most impactful articles I’ve written over the last few years to get you started.
